Update on Denmark's bookkeeping act: New schedule for digital standards

The Bookkeeping Act is a law in Denmark that wants to make accounting records digital. Unfortunately, progress on this law slowed down because of the new government. However, the Danish Authorities have now given an update on the Bookkeeping Act.

Starting from February 1, 2023, there will be a new schedule for digital bookkeeping standards. Any digital systems that need to be registered must do so by January 1, 2024.

We are still waiting for more information from the Danish government, such as the specific requirements for companies to comply with the Bookkeeping Act and when they will be expected to do so.

In the case of carrying out significant administrative procedures, due to the high risk of errors that may result in potential penalties or legal consequences, we recommend consulting an expert. If necessary, we encourage you to get in touch.
